Peach Cobbler


4 Cups sliced peaches (about 6 peaches)
1 Cup sugar, divided
1/2 Cup butter or margarine
1/4 Cup all-purpose flour
2 Teaspoons baking powder
1/4 Cup milk
Vanilla Ice Cream

Combine peaches and 1/2 cup sugar; let stand 15 minutes or until a syrup
forms. Melt butter at 350 degrees in an 11x7 baking dish. Stir together
remaining 1/2 cup sugar, flour, baking powder and milk; pour mixture over
melted butter. (DO NOT STIR.) Spoon peaches over mixture. Bake at 350
degrees for 55 minutes. Serve warm cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Makes 6
- 8 servings.
